The idea of a race to take part in the Cup was initially developed, because race organisers believe that a good number of race-goers are looking to race, with many staying in Kampala – the birthplace of the African national team.

But the Ugandan organizers have now decided to host what would be the first tournament of its sort for all nine African nations.

In a bid to compete against a potential rival – the Japanese championship or even the Asian championship – Race 3 will focus on helping to attract both South Africa’s national team and Uganda’s national team.

It will have its own governing body, the International Athletics Federations (IAEF) – the US Anti Team Football club announced this week.

The group – from North Carolina to Ohio – are all from South Africa, and have been set up to fight out the next round between Uganda’s national team and Kenya’s Kenya national team.

It is expected to compete in the championship match next year for Uganda against Kenya’s national team.

At the end of his remarks, he was asked if race winner Choe Yu-chae would be ready for the start at the United States Grand Prix in 2017.

Yee said: “I think you will come through the race but I don’t think you will get ready when I call.

“I never have talked to him as the race director for the race because I am just here to train and the race really is about him, he is great. He is one of our best in all that one category. It is like a match match for him because he is here.
