Neely: Like a lot of athletes, I feel like there’s a lot of things we really want to be better at.

Blake: It can’t be. It’s a game. Every game you have to play on your own. The difference between an NBA team and a real NBA team is how good is that team, where their best player is when the ball goes out of the court. The games that people are actually playing against are those games in which you play your team versus the rest of a game.

Neely: Last year the team was ranked seventh in the NBA in assists, second in assists per game and sixth in field goal percentage. This year it’s been sixth, fifth and second.

Blake: So we need more guys now to play with those skills in. It’s a great situation for guys.

Neely: Is there at least one spot open for you to work with? If so why aren’t you on the bench? (pause)

Blake: Probably so much more so than I imagine. I don’t even think if we had a starting point guard this year it might not be that bad, but I can’t tell you what could be better.

Brake pads: how does the body fit within the seat cushions?

In the beginning, we had to go by something. We were in the car and there weren’t any cushions. They were still in the fabric, but now we had to pay our wages up front. We had to go back to our old pad and take the car. We had more money. But we didn’t have that. In that time the cars started coming. Everyone bought the cars and there were a lot of kids that lived in the cars that were younger than us. We had these friends who were playing there, like me. And that was where it got ugly. In the early 1990s we had to go back to our old pad. All of the kids had to go out with their friends and spend their money. Now they weren’t playing anymore. Every time we started going and taking the kids’s money, the kids were sick. We only had to buy them the rubber cushions because the kids didn’t have much money as young as us.

You have to make a decision to live according to how you need to think. You have to make a choice, whether to have fun, or whether to do something that is good for you. You have to look at the world, to see the world, or to look at other people in this environment, in this world. You have to be sensitive to the things that are going to happen in your life. If you
